Service Description
The Development Lab is a structured professional pathway for writers who have a concept rather than a completed script. Writers submit their idea and take part in a 16 week guided development process with the OutWrd team, shaping the premise into a detailed outline and then into a full draft. Regular development sessions provide focused creative direction, story problem solving and clear milestones to ensure steady progress. The lab delivers a finished script that is ready for internal assessment and potential consideration for OutWrd production opportunities.

Cancellation Policy
1. Introduction This policy governs all bookings for the Development Lab, a structured six month writing programme. By enrolling, participants agree to these terms, which ensure clarity, fairness and a professional environment. 2. Enrolment and Scheduling Places must be booked through our website and are confirmed only when full payment has been received and a confirmation email issued. The Lab operates on fixed dates and attendance is the responsibility of each participant. 3. Fees and Payment Programme fees must be paid in full at the time of enrolment unless expressly stated otherwise. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law. Pricing may change for future cohorts but confirmed enrolments remain unaffected. 4. Cancellations by the Participant Due to the limited nature of places and the long term structure of the Lab, cancellations by participants are not eligible for refunds once enrolment is confirmed. Failure to attend sessions does not entitle the participant to partial refunds or transfers to future cohorts. 5. Cancellations by OutWrd If OutWrd must cancel or materially alter the programme, participants will receive an alternative arrangement or a full refund. We are not responsible for any additional costs incurred by the participant. 6. Participation Requirements Participants must submit materials according to deadlines and in the required format. Failure to engage with sessions, deadlines or feedback may diminish the value of the programme but will not entitle the participant to refunds or extensions. 7. Conduct and Group Environment We maintain a professional and respectful environment. OutWrd may remove a participant without refund if they engage in abusive, discriminatory or disruptive behaviour, or if they compromise the safety or integrity of the group. 8. Scope and Limitations The Development Lab provides creative development support and professional guidance but does not guarantee production, funding, representation, distribution or commercial success. Advice given is not legal, financial or investment advice and participants should seek independent counsel where relevant. 9. Intellectual Property Participants retain full ownership of their original work. All frameworks, documents and teaching materials provided by OutWrd remain our intellectual property and may not be redistributed without written consent. Submissions are reviewed solely for programme purposes.
